Privacy

Plainly: what we keep, why, and how to remove it.

Without an account

Your conversation stays in your own browser. We keep a random visitor id and a daily message count so the service stays fair and affordable — nothing that identifies you.

With an account

We store your sign-in (name and email from Google, or your email for a sign-in link), your saved conversations, the quotes Oogway has shared with you, and a short private memory note so Oogway can pick up where you left off.

Only you can read these. They are protected by database rules that let each person reach their own data and nothing else.

Who processes your messages

To write a reply, your message and recent conversation are sent to our AI provider, OpenAI, which does not use API data to train its models.

If OpenAI is unavailable, a backup provider, Google Gemini, may answer instead. Google's free Gemini service may use the content it receives to improve its products.

The site is hosted on Google Firebase; replies are routed through Cloudflare. Your data is never sold, and never used for advertising profiles.

Deleting your data

Signed in, open your avatar → “What Oogway remembers”. You can clear the memory note, delete single conversations from “Past conversations”, or delete your account — which removes every conversation, your memory note and your sign-in.

Oogway is not a therapist

Oogway offers reflection and words from others who have walked difficult roads. It is not medical or professional mental-health care. If you are in danger or thinking of ending your life, please reach out to someone you trust or a crisis line — in the US, call or text 988.
